New Starters
On this page we will provide a little bit more information for those families that are new to St James' Church of England Primary School and Nursery.
Admissions
Once your child has been allocated a school space at St James' you will receive a phone call or an email to book a welcome to school meeting date. Please come to the meeting with your child and the following documents:
- Full Birth Certificate for a child (with mum's and dad's details)
- Passport (child’s)
- Parents' National Insurance number or NASS number (if you are an asylum seeker)
During the admissions meeting you will be provided with information about our school and you will be given a start date.
School Day
The timings of our school day are as follows:
- Nursery AM - 8:30am to 11:30am
- Nursery PM – 12:30pm to 3:30pm
- Reception–Y6 – 8:35am to 3:15pm
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with school lunch for free, you can check out our school menu here: Lunches
If you wish your child can bring their own packed lunch instead. We are a healthy school therefore no sweets, chocolates, fast food, fizzy drinks should be included in a packed lunch.
Important things to bring – School book bag and a water bottle (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks).
Uniform
Our school uniform is based around our school colours and the school logos, but it is not compulsory to have uniform with the school logo on and children can wear plain clothing as per our uniform list that you can find here: Uniform

SchoolMoney
We are a cashless school. We use online payment system SchoolMoney SchoolMoney Login
Once your child has been registered you will receive a text message with your login details. Please use this information to log on to SchoolMoney to purchase uniform, pay for clubs or any other payments due to school.
Clubs
There are a wide range of clubs offered at our school. All the clubs run term time only. You can find more here:
Breakfast Club: 8am to 8:35am daily. It costs £1.50 per day per child. Breakfast is provided.
After school club: 3:30pm to 4:15pm daily. These are free of charge. Subject to a space available. Please see the clubs available: Clubs
Whizz Kids After Scool Club
Whizz Kids After School Club offers convenient and reliable care for our busy working parents. Run by highly experienced and dedicated staff, activities are carefully planned to work alongside the school’s curriculum and enhance the children’s learning experience in a fun and enjoyable way.
Whizz Kids After School club is open 3.15pm - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Children are offered a healthy snack and a drink.
There is a charge for this club:
4.30pm pick up = £5
5.30pm pick up = £10
