Handa's Surprise

We will be learning the text 'Handa's Surprise'

using actions and signs. We will start by reading the

text and will then develop actions and signs to

key events of the story.

Development Matters

Development Matters is the tool we use to plan and assess in Early Years.

Busy Learning
In our classroom environment, both inside and outside, we have lots of fun activities.
These activities cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum.

We complete these independently and we call this busy learning!

Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) is made up of 3 prime areas and 4 specific areas.

Prime Areas
Communication and Language (C&L)
Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
Physical Development

Specific Areas
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World (UoW)
Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

Please enjoy looking at pictures from our classroom environment...

Religious Education
We are a Church of England school and this is a big part of our curriculum.

A St James' child values the fruits of the spirit in everything they do.

How do you show the fruits of the spirit?

Chinese New Year 2022 - The Year of the Tiger

We had a fantastic time celebrating Chinese New Year...

Everybody really enjoyed wearing red for good luck and trying Chinese cuisine!

We learnt about the story of Chinese New Year and the ways people celebrate. Everyone took part in a range of activities including; making tiger masks, Korean writing, dancing to Chinese music and role-playing a Chinese takeaway!

Christingles
Today we all made a Christingle.

We learnt that the orange symbolises the world, the red ribbon shows Gods love, the sweets show the four seasons and the candle demonstrates that Jesus is the light of the world.

We had fun singing our Christmas song and lighting our Christingles.

This half term, our 'REAL Foundations' session will be focusing on footwork and our 'REAL Gym' session will be focusing on shape and travel...

Lesson 1 will be every Thursday
