Class Trip to Beth Chatto Gardens

We were lucky enough to win the Eco Schools competition in school and went on a trip to Beth Chatto Gardens. We all had a lovely trip. Some of our activities included: exploring the gardens, Using insect sampling equipment to search different minibeast habitats in the wild area, Creating our own pongy potion with wild ingredients and learning all about birds! We even had a go at nest building!

Sports Day 2021

Pictures from our sports day - We really missed being cheered on by our parents and carers, but we all still had lots of fun!

The empty tomb

This weeks theme is the empty tomb. What does the empty tomb mean to you?

In computing we have been learning to code using the program scratch. We input an algorithm to move the cat across the page. If we went wrong we were able to debug the program and fix the mistake. We are coding genius'!

Yellow Class - History Entry Point

On Monday 21st September Yellow Class dressed up as famous people of the past. We heard lots of amazing facts from the children about the people they were dressed as.

Some pictures of the children are shown below.

Well done everyone, it was a great day.

Can you guess who we're dressed as?

We are Super Scientists!

So far in Yellow class we have investigated gravity by making and dropping paper spinners to see how quickly they fall to the floor. We have also investigated sound by making our own telephones, using plastic cups and string.

We made light houses ready to write instructions. We then talked to our peer partner about how we made them and the time connectives and imperative verbs that we can use when we do our writing.

We have been using talk for writing during our English lessons. We have put actions to words to help us remember stories and texts. This allows us to imitate the text and learn it's structure.
